Our goal at the Department of Volunteer Services at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital
is to match your interests, skills, passions, and/or experience with our needs.
While we have many volunteer opportunities already in existence, we are always
open to talking about new ideas. Right now, some of our available opportunities
include: * Emergency Department Ambassadors- Act as liaison between the
Emergency Dept. staff and waiting loved ones * Hospitality Ambassadors- Greet
and escort patients and visitors to their destinations * Inpatient Ambassadors-
Be a "friendly visitor" to patients * Gift Shop- Operate cash register *
Reception Desk- Greet the public, give room information and directions * Patient
Advocacy - focus on helping our patients have a more comfortable hospital stay
The helping hands and loving hearts of our volunteers provide an invaluable
service to our patients and their families. Those who join may choose an area of
service or times best suited to their talents and schedules. Based on your
skills and interests, we will make every effort to find just the right fit. We
also offer a Summer Teen Volunteer Program for teens age 14 and up. For more
